Hello everyone! André here. This is a smoothie recipe Rita came up with one morning by simply adding whatever we had sitting in the fridge in that exact moment, including our frozen green cubes (give them a try if you haven't yet!). I loved it so much we had to have it for 3 days straight. And we didn't make it for breakfast again on the fourth morning simply because we'd ran out of pears and avocados by then! This is the creamiest green smoothie you'll ever have thanks to the perfect banana-avocado-hemp seeds combo. The taste of greens is actually pretty mild so it would be a great option to get someone who's not used to it started on adding green goodness to their breakfast smoothies.
As far as pears go, we used the juicy portuguese Pêra Rocha pears (literally rock pears) for this recipe, but any variety will do as long as they are sweet and ripe. The sweetness of the pears will provide the perfect balance for this green smoothie, but you will still be able to taste the banana and avocado. YUM!
Creamy Pear, Avocado & Frozen greens smoothie
5 minutes | serves 2
2 ripe bananas
1/2 ripe avocado
2 small ripe pears
2 1/2 cups | 375 ml. almond milk ( or any plant-based milk )
4 frozen green cubes ( or 2 handfuls dark leafy greens )
2 tbsp hemp seeds
1 tbsp hemp protein powder ( or any plant-based protein powder )
extra hemp seeds for sprinkling
STEP BY STEP
Start by gathering, preparing and measuring all of the ingredients. This will improve your dynamic in the kitchen.
- Add all of the ingredients to your blender and blend for a minute or two (depending on how powerful your blender is!) until the smoothie is nice and creamy.
- Serve, sprinkle some more hemp seeds on top and drink straight away.
